Currently living in: Littleton, NH (United States)

I went to I.U. Bloomington for undergrad (class of 2002, B.S. Biochemistry/business minor) then moved to NY for grad school in the basic medical sciences. I have a PhD in Experimental Pathology and was involved in NIH funded genetics research on hypertension. I relocated to the White Mountains of New Hampshire in July 2008, where my boyfriend and I recently bought a house. I am a contributing writer and AIDS/HIV Topic Editor at the Vancouver-based Suite101.com and contributor, fact-checker, and Medical Sciences subchannel steward at Helium.com. I also have my own health liaison website currently (still) in development: maeflowers.com. I also offer freelance research support to researchers by taking their resources and compiling background and introductory materials for their grants and publications and acting as a writing consultant for biotech firms and postdocs. However, my main work currently is editing literature reviews, dissertations, and scientific manuscripts by nonnative English speakers aiming to publish in peer-reviewed journals. I taught graduate school courses while in NY and would love to get back into lecturing. I also dabble in a number of creative hobbies, including photography, painting, and polymer clay.
